This is the privacy policy of Cortex I.T. Labs Pty Ltd, ACN 120 499 176, (hereinafter "Cortex IT", "we", "us"). Cortex IT understands the importance of protecting your personal information and undertakes to adhere to this privacy policy at all times to ensure your personal information is effectively safeguarded.
What type of personal information we collect
Cortex IT undertakes to collect your personal information only where it is necessary for the purposes of marketing our software products and where requested distributing newsletters, licensing our software, updating our software, administering virus updates and responding to sales and technical queries.
In most circumstances this information will be limited to your contact details, including but not limited to your name, address, e-mail address, company, company ABN, company address, your job title and phone numbers. Where orders are made online using credit card details, all information is securely transmitted in an encrypted format to Cortex IT.
When do we collect personal information
Cortex IT collects personal information when you complete one of the following actions:
- Order Cortex IT software;
- Download trial versions of Cortex IT software;
- Make an enquiry about Cortex IT software;
- Apply to become a reseller of Cortex IT software;
- Apply to receive newsletters for Cortex IT software;
- Lodge a technical support query regarding Cortex IT software;
- Participate in Cortex IT promotional activities or surveys;
- Where you forward information to us in an email or as a hard copy document; and
- Other circumstances where collecting personal information is reasonable and permitted by the Laws of the State of Victoria, Australia.
Use of cookies
The Cortex IT web sites may from time to time use cookies. A cookie is a piece of text that is saved to your browser by a web site to enable that website to save certain information to your machine so that it can later be retrieved. We do not use cookies to collect personal information about you. When your personal information is no longer required for the purposes which Cortex IT uses personal information, all commercially reasonable steps will be undertaken to securely destroy that information.

Cortex IT may use your personal information for any of the following purposes:
- Marketing Cortex IT software;
- Fulfilling orders for Cortex IT software;
- Updating Cortex IT software;
- Responding to enquiries about Cortex IT software; and

Cortex IT considers personal information we collect about you to be confidential and will not disclose such information to third parties except in the following circumstances:

Except in circumstances where access to your personal information may be denied by the Privacy Act or other Law of the State of Victoria, Australia, your personal information will be provided to you upon request to Cortex IT's Privacy Officer. Cortex IT appreciates you informing us if you have reason to believe that personal information we hold about you is incorrect, incomplete or not updated.
