You are here Home > Microsoft Windows 2003 Backup Utility gets power boost
Sydney, May 15 2007 -Cortex I.T. Labs Pty Ltd today announces the launch of BackupAssist version 4.0. With enhanced integration to MS Windows Backup Utility, it offers a powerful yet affordable industry-standard backup software solution to small and medium businesses (SMB).
BackupAssist adds features to Windows Backup Utility including disk-to-disk storage management, backup reminders, backup monitoring and support for real-time backup of SQL Server and Exchange Server.
For SMB who want to maximize storage use, BackupAssist version 4.0 allows backup devices to be shared across networks and makes it simple for organisations to achieve secondary off-site backups of critical data. For organisations using Managed Services, BackupAssist reports critical operational information missing in Windows Backup Utility to allow for proactive issue resolution.
By reusing and enhancing the resident Windows Backup Utility, BackupAssist delivers substantial cost savings to customers by choosing not to “re-invent the wheel”. Hard-working SMB clients who employ poor backup practices because existing name brand solutions are out of reach, can finally afford to have an industry standard “no-compromise” backup software solution.
Through this integration, BackupAssist also enables organisations to standardise their important data in the native Microsoft backup file format. This allows data for recovery on any Windows machine even if BackupAssist isn’t installed.
“Because it is based on standard Microsoft Backup technology, there are no other proprietary or complex procedures to learn, which is great for my SMB clients” says solution provider Richard Pederick, CEO Forerunner Computers.
BackupAssist v4.0 trial is available for download from www.BackupAssist.com.
